Ever since I became unemployed in 2019, I lost my sense of purpose and spent my days wandering around without any direction. It made me feel inadequate, as if I was a burden to my family and an outcast of society. Eventually, I ended up in the hospital and received treatment. During my hospitalization, I had the opportunity to participate in occupational therapy training. With the therapist's guidance, I discovered strengths within myself that I hadn't recognized before. I was even invited to assist in leading groups, teaching other patients, and helping with various tasks around the facility. It was during this process that I realized how much I enjoyed the role of a volunteer and the sense of being valued and needed. Going forward, I aspire to engage in more volunteer activities, utilizing my strengths. Moreover, I am now ready to seek a new job. I plan to enhance my skills by enrolling in a caretaker course provided by the Employees Retraining Board. My aim is to find a stable job and fulfill my responsibilities as a devoted wife and mother, while also taking care of myself. I have started to plan my life again, rediscovering my roles and eagerly looking forward to the new opportunities that await me after my discharge.
Although I know there will be challenges in the future, I firmly believe that the setbacks I faced have taught me valuable lessons. I am determined to pursue the goals I set during this period and continue “unlocking” my potential, seeking meaning and fulfillment in my life.
